3. Application fees are exempted for PwBD.

Candidates who have successfully passed all the stages of the UPSC exam are then recruited to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration at Mussoorie for training. IAS officers are trained for 2 years at this academy. The IAS training program has a strict schedule. 

The schedule of the IAS training program is given below: 

1. Foundation Course

2. IAS Training Phase I: It is a winter study tour or Bharat Darshan. After IAS candidates complete their foundation course, IAS probationers are divided into groups and taken on a tour all over India to experience our rich cultural diversity and heritage.

3. District Training: This IAS district training lasts for a year. This includes studying the administrative setup of particular districts as part of it. And understanding of developmental issues, solutions, challenges, and implementation.

4. IAS Training Phase II: Sharing and discussing the individual experience of phase I and district training.

5. Assistant Secretary-ship: After completing the foundation course, IAS training Phase I, district training, and training phase II, IAS probationers are then given the title of Assistant Secretaries, and they work for a period of a few months under the Joint Secretaries on a Central Deputation.

Number of Attempts: General candidates get only 6 attempts to pass all the stages of the UPSC exam.

OBC category: The age limit is a minimum of 21 years and a maximum of 32 years + 3 years and the number of attempts for the examination is 9.
